What rating we are aiming for

We want our film to adhere to the usual codes and conventions of action/thriller films, in the trailer we want there to be aspects of action with chase scenes, fight scenes and guns but also the high octane speed of a thriller where scenes overlap quickly to create a fast paced effect for the viewer. We are aiming for a 15 because most of the films in these specific genres are based at a mature audience who can handle mild gore and violence. We think as a group that a 15 is most suitable because people around this age are most into the blockbuster films which make a cinema release, the films released usually limit the amount of gore and violence they show so they can market their end product to a much larger audience. For action and thrillers it is usually boys who attend to watch the film as the films to all the boyish stereotypes, however the film trailer we are looking to create is going to be aimed at both boys and girls, in a commercial sense the film should be more successful as both genders are aimed at. The film itself will not show an awful lot in the trailer as we want it to flow really quickly and keep the fast paced thriller chase aspect of it.

Universal
Universal is suitable for any audiences aged 4 and over. This age rating is for very young viewers as the film will not contain nudity, gore or bad language.

Parental Guidance
PG stands for Parental Guidance. A film is suitable for viewing but some scenes are unsuitable for young children. The content may upset a child so the age encouraged to watch the films are eight or older.

12 Rating
12 rated movies are suitable for people aged 12 and over, however, people younger than 12 will watch a 12A which is a 12 movie accompanied by an adult.

15 Rating
15 rated works are unsuitable for anyone under the ages of 15. The film could contain scenes of explicit natures like violence, stong language and sex.

18 Rating
Movies that are rated 18 are only for adults and no younger. The movie would certainly not be suitable for children. The 18 rated movies could contain: very strong language, sex, blood and gore.
