Movie poster analysis-Avatar

The avatar poster is a very symbolic poster which captures the full essence of the emotion portrayed in the actual film. The character shown can be seen to have a very deep connection to the elements around it. The depth shown in the iris can show us how vast the world is, the green, yellow colour may show the future connection to the ground and trees on their planet. The poster catches the audiences attention very well because of the primary colours used, the brightness of the skin colour makes us look for further details of compatibility between the audience and character. The darkness present in the background is there to give the audience a sense of unawareness and a feel of what's to come which could be considered a dark movie plot. The fact that it says "from the director of Titanic" catches the audience eye very quickly as people who are a fan of James Cameron are already caught in the dream that this film could live up to the expectations of James Cameron's last hit film.

The fact that it shows the main protagonist helps us to relate to the character at hand even though he is similar but different from humans. The facial features are very relevant because they show a very content character whose focus may refer to the task at hand.
